The full schedule will be repeated on the second day – (Sunday 27th) with different judges. Upon completion of each class on the Sunday the points will be collated from both days to reveal the Champion and Reserve from that class. Each overall class Champion will go forward to the “Trailblazers Supreme Showing Championship 2008” on Sunday. Entries close 1st post Monday, 30th June, 2008 PLEASE ENCLOSE AN SAE with your entry form so that we can send you a confirmation of entry card saying we have received your entry. The confirmation of entry card you will receive will have a number on it, this number relates to your entry form, your order for shavings and your booking for stables. It is not the number of your stable or your competition number. If you have booked more than one stable on one entry form you will still only receive one number. The card just confirms we have received your entry form and will help the stable manager find out how many stables and shavings you have ordered so please bring it with you to the show. Please note the stable manager will not be available until 2pm on Friday 25th July, 2008. The official collecting ring will be open from 3pm onwards on 25th July, 2008 for the use of competitors entered in the showing Championships only, to exercise and familiarise themselves with the facilities. The collecting ring will close at 7.30pm prompt to this facility, on the 25th July, 2008. There will be other areas available to exercise. Please ensure that you read the Showing rules on below. Showing Entries secretary – Email: tbshowing@btconnect.com Tel: 01254 246964 Trailblazers Showing Championship Rules 2008 1. The Judges decision is final and binding in all classes. Competitors are reminded that it is unethical to present their animals under a Judge who has a vested interest in it. 2. A Judge may require that a horse/pony which constitutes a danger leaves the ring. 3. Objections – may only be made by an Exhibitor at the event. All objections should be made in writing and accompanied by £30.00 on the day of the show. All objections will be dealt with by the Directors. 4. To enter and compete at the Trailblazers Championships, the horse or pony entered must not change name nor may a substitute horse or pony be used. The combination must stay the same including handlers. 5. The organisers do not accept liability for accident, damage or any loss to anyone, animal or property whilst at the show meeting. 6. Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday on the day of the show. 7. Horses / ponies must be four years old and over in all ridden classes. The age should be calculated from the 1st January in the year of their birth. 8. Stallions/ colts may not be led by any juniors who have not attained their 16th birthday before January 1st in the current year at any show affiliating to Trailblazers Showing. The competitor/handler is responsible for the duty of care to other competitors and general public at all times. 9. Young stock classes will not be eligible for qualification until after the 1st January of the current Championship year. This will ensure that the ages of the young stock are correct for the Championship Finals. 10. No horse / pony may enter the ring after the judging process has begun and the steward has closed the ring. In the event of the rider or handler leaving the ring they must be present for the final assessment and presentation of awards. The class is complete when the judge dismisses the class. 11. A fall of pony/horse or rider in any class will result in disqualification and they MUST leave the ring dismounted. 12. Correctly secured British Standard Skull Cap/ Riding Hats, meeting all CURRENT British safety standards MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted. 13. Handlers should be smartly dressed. Handlers under 16 years of age should wear British standard scull cap/ riding hats. 14. During a class a rider must wear the correct Head Gear in accordance with Rule 13 and must wear a Riding Jacket, shirt, tie or stock, a pair of breeches or jodhpurs and a pair of Top Boots or jodhpur boots. 15. Gaiters may be worn (colour matching the jodhpur boot). Chaps are not permitted. Earrings and body studs SHOULD NOT be worn. 16. Mobile telephones and ear pieces MUST not be taken into the ring. 17. Horses/ponies should be shown in a suitable bridle. Judges opinion on suitable bridles may vary and their decision is final. 18. No item of tack/equipment to be used inappropriately or in a manner deemed cruel by the Judge, Show Directors or Centre Owners. 19. No running reins/draw reins to be worn in a class or main arena at any time. 20. In ALL classes whips are not to exceed 75cms (30ins). 21. Ponies height Riders age on the 1st Day of the National Championships: Up to 122 cm 11 years old and under, 122 up to 138 cm 15 years old and under, 138 up to 148 cm 17 years old and under, 148 up to 153 cm 20 years old and under, Class 13 - Lead rein 9 years old and under, Class 14 - First Ridden 12 years old and under. The rider’s age must be correct on the 1st day of the National Championship Show. 22. Conduct, discipline, cruelty and unsportsmanlike behaviour. All will be dealt with at the discretion of the show organiser to maintain the high standards expected. Showing Entries secretary – Email: tbshowing@btconnect.com Tel: 01254 246964 General Rules for Trailblazers Championships Entries & Stabling All classes and stabling must be pre-paid by the close of entries. Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form, correctly completed. No entries will be transferred after the close of entries. Competitors are responsible for bedding - please use shavings only. Shavings are available on-site, see order form. No straw or paper. Showing competitors must vacate their stables on Sunday 27th July. All stables must be left clean and tidy of litter. Valid Flu Vaccination certificates MUST ACCOMPANY all horse/ponies entered into the Championships. These may be checked on entry to the Show Ground. Stallions All stallions must wear identification discs, which can be collected from the Show Office and a red ribbon on the tail. The organisers and their stewards will not accept any responsibility for the actions of stallions. This must be borne by the person exhibiting such animals. Prize Givings, Awards and Presentations There will be a mounted prize giving for all ridden classes. Failure to attend correctly dressed will result in all awards being withheld (without the express permission of the arena presentation officials). Special Awards Competitors must make themselves available for photo shoots, etc. with the Sponsor. Refunds No refunds will be given after the closing date of entries, other than claims supported by a veterinary certificate, when a 50% refund on entry fees only will be given. A twenty per cent handling charge will be deducted from refunded entry fees before the close of entries. No refunds will be given on stable bookings if withdrawing after the close of entries. People wishing refunds must have withdrawn in writing to the entries secretary. No refunds on show jumping or dressage entries if withdrawing after 5pm on Saturday, 26th July, 2008. No refunds on showing entries if withdrawing after 5pm on Wednesday, 23rd July, 2008. Refunds will not be dealt with until at least a month after the Championships have finished and the Directors have had their meeting, so please be patient. The refunds will be dealt with as long as your withdrawal has been sent to the Entries Secretary in writing, along with your veterinary certificate. Trailblazers reserves the right to refuse an entry without giving any reason. Making an Objection Objections must be made in writing no more than twenty minutes after the incident occurring and presented to the Secretaries Office, together with a deposit of £30. The deposit will not be refunded if the Ground Jury overrules the objection. Objections can only be made by a competitor of the 2008 finals. The Rules All competitions to be run in accordance with the current Trailblazers Rule Book (3rd edition). Trailblazers Rule Books are available from your local Trailblazers Centre, running Trailblazers competitions, at a cost of £2.00 each. Health & Safety If any person, senior or junior, is found not to be complying with these reasonable rules or any Health and Safety requirements at the Trailblazer Championships, they may be asked to leave the Show Ground by the Ground Jury. Miscellaneous No motor bikes, scooters or Quad bikes to be used anywhere on the show ground. Apart from authorised official vehicles. Adults will not be allowed to ride ponies on the showground on behalf of Junior competitors. No smoking will be permitted around stable areas. Stoneleigh Park rules a. Only generators built into horse boxes allowed. Portable generators of any kind will NOT be permitted. No generators to be used after 11pm. b. Barbecues are not permitted. c. All dogs MUST be on a lead and supervised at all times. Owners will be held responsible for any fouling.
